NATIONAL HR CONFERENCE 2024
National HR Conference 2024

05 - 06 JUNE, Monarch Imperial, Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte.

“Navigating the HR Horizon”.

The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Sri Lanka has made plans to conduct the National HR Conference 2024 on the 05th and 06th of June 2024 at the Monarch Imperial, Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte, Sri Lanka. on behalf of the president & executive council of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Sri Lanka.

The theme of the conference is “Navigating the HR Horizon”.The new world of work is presenting significant challenges for HR professionals; from the convergence of pandemic and economic turbulence to changing employee perceptions of the workplace. In the dynamic realm of Human Resources, staying ahead of the curve is essential to foster a workplace that adapts to the evolving needs of employees and organizations. Against this backdrop, now is an excellent time to take stock of the future of human resources - how and where can HR teams focus on making the most significant impact on their organization? AI Technology and the ever-growing number of tools that are built around the technology will revolutionize everything about the way we manage talent and workplace dynamics. Adoption of AI tools has been slow to gain widespread momentum in the human resources space, but GenAI technologies—which can create content from disparate sources and quickly summarize multiple data sets—offer the HR discipline several powerfully compelling capabilities. HR is already using and experimenting with AI in several key result areas, as deployments bring efficiency and new insights to the people function. HR’s engagement with GenAI is set to escalate dramatically. Digital life will continue to expand people’s boundaries and opportunities in the coming decade. Still, there are certain inherent risks in digital life that could be harmful to people’s health, mental fitness and happiness. HR plays an important role in integrating solutions to support employee well-being. When navigating in turbulent waters, efficiency is the key to the survival of any organisation and HR has to play a pivotal role in this voyage. HR must not only innovate but must also act as change agents, strategists, mentors, counselors and motivators. They must adopt a people-centered model of management instead of the go-get-them approach. Another area of impact is the organisational culture. The culture defines “how things are done” in an organisation. More importantly in times of crisis, culture takes the driver’s seat. A constructive culture where people treat each other with respect and work together effectively provides a solid foundation to handle external pressures more positively. Also, HR has to Incorporate environmentally conscious and socially responsible leadership practices into organizational strategies. Sustainable leadership is all about adopting a responsible approach to the way that we lead, stopping to think about the wider impact of our actions on society and the environment. The green workplace requires taking a holistic and integrated approach to enhancing work culture, improving place of work, and reducing environmental impacts As HR professionals navigate the ever-changing landscape, they need to take cognizance of these emerging trends that are shaping the future of work. By understanding and incorporating these concepts, HR leaders can contribute to building resilient, adaptable, and people-centric organizations.
